Step into the world of lavender distillation and experience the magic of turning freshly handpicked lavender into pure essential oil and fragrant hydrosol. Using our beautiful copper still, affectionately named Ms. Sarah, we’ll walk you through the distillation process from flower to finished product. You’ll learn how lavender is transformed through steam distillation and have the opportunity to see, smell, and experience the process firsthand. To make the experience even more special, each guest will create their own lavender essential oil roller to take home—a beautiful reminder of your time at the farm.
Lavender 101 is a hands-on introduction to successfully growing lavender. Learn the essentials of lavender cultivation, from understanding soil, sun, and watering needs to proper pruning, harvesting, and seasonal care. We’ll also explore the differences between culinary and non-culinary lavender, along with the unique characteristics and uses of different varieties. By the end of the class, you’ll have a better understanding of which lavender varieties are best suited to your garden and how to use them.
